God's in control of the weather!

Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord, (Acts 3:19 NIV)

It's nearing the end of January and the weather has been miserable. Snow, wind, sub zero temps and school closings have filled the month. So, guess what I've been doing! Planning our 2014 Summer Vacation Motorcycle trip. We are heading to the northeast, New York, New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, Nova Scotia, Montreal, Quebec, The idea of riding in the warm summer sun will have to be enough to get me through until spring break. Then I can relax in Florida for a week to rejuvenate! I haven't started a count down yet, but SOON. It gives me hope to think this will all come to an end and Spring WILL arrive. While I was out shoveling today I ran my motorcycle. It was good to hear the roar of the pipes!

Still through all things I praise God. He provides all things. I read a devotion the other day that said why do we pray for rain (or to stop snowing)? Do we think God doesn't know what he's doing? Do we think he needs our help with the weather? God brings the terrible conditions of winter for a reason. One of those reasons is to provide the stark contrast and refreshing feel of Spring. It's the same with our life. If everything coasts along perfect, we ignore and turn from God. Having trials and stresses in life points us back to our Heavenly Father. We complain about those troubles, but we NEED them. It has been true from the Old Testament to today. We are a stubborn and forgetful people. When God gives us everything, we forget him.

I'm sitting here warm inside my home looking out over a wind blown, barren, brutally cold landscape. God knows what he's doing. He is in charge of all things including the weather.

God is good ALL THE TIME!

All the time, God is good!
