Christmas: Love in Action!

Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth. (1 John 3:18 NIV)

We are less than 24 hours from Christmas morning. It is the most peaceful morning of the year. No rush to get ready for school, no shopping deadlines, and nothing on the schedule except family. The whole world takes a break and one big collective sigh. We get the joy of watching others open gifts given with out sincere love. I can't express the joy I get out of giving my family gifts at Christmas. I love the surprise and the joy at the unexpected gift.

Love is the center of Christmas. God sent his son to live among us. He came to earth just, like we did. He grew up like we did. He lived a life sharing love and speaking the truth, just like we should. We need to get beyond the words and take action, like Jesus did. We need to take hope to the hopeless. We need to share the truth and real love which is not judgmental. Christians are good at speaking the words and not walking the walk. We need to provide the unexpected gift of sacrifice to help and serve others. The joy of giving works for the giver and the river of the gift. It's a win win for everyone.

The greatest gift you can give this Christmas is to put your love in action. Go out and serve out of love and dedication to the new born babe, Born in a manger so that we might all be saved.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!
