Blessed!

At sundown he arrived at a good place to set up camp and stopped there for the night. Jacob found a stone to rest his head against and lay down to sleep. (Genesis 28:11 NLT)

Three weeks from tomorrow the "Great Adventure" begins. Stephanie and I are taking 4 of our grandchildren out west. We have been blessed with a new travel trailer and will be camping across the west for two weeks. We will travel through South Dakota to Mount Rushmore and the Black Hills, then to North Dakota to watch our oldest grandson perform at the Medora Musical, then on through Montana to Yellowstone. On the way home we will travel through the Grand Tetons, Wyoming, Nebraska, Iowa and home. I am excited to see the months of planning get close.

Camping is an amazing pastime. It's a blessing from God. Stephanie and I have been camping on summer vacation for many years. We have slept on the ground with nothing more than a rock for a pillow. We graduated to a small pop-up camper and now we have a 34 foot camper ready to travel west with our grandkids. Spending time seeing God's wonders, spending time around a campfire, cooking over an open fire, hiking the mountains, and just relaxing, is a real blessing from God.

Thank You Lord for blessing me with a great family. Thank you for providing me with the opportunity to travel this great country with some of the loves of my life. I begin praying right now to bless this trip with evidence of your greatness. May we all realize this creation is a gift from you. May our trip be filled with joy, peace, and laughter with you in the center. Praise God for your wonderful love, grace, and mercy. Amen!

It's life changing!

We all fell down, and I heard a voice saying to me in Aramaic, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me? It is useless for you to fight against my will. ’ (Acts of the Apostles 26:14 NLT)

It is useless to resist the power of Jesus. On the road to Damascus Paul finally realized God is in charge. We will all get to that point in our life where we realize we need God. It may come too late, but it will happen. The Bible says every knee will bow. Why would anyone choose to fight against the will of the creator of the universe? Why would we fight the power of Jesus?

Over the next several weeks students across America will be graduating from high school, many college students have completed the same life changing event. Graduation is a life changing event. It is the turning of a page into a new phase of life. I have experienced two graduations for myself, a wedding to my best friend, the birth of my three great daughters, but nothing compares to my commitment to Jesus and how that has changed my life. This event continues to change me and mold me. Jesus is embedded in every aspect of my life. Praise God I know him. I don't know what I would do without the daily presence of Jesus in my life. It is life changing and eternal. We all need to make this life changing commitment before it's too late.

Thank you Lord. Just like you changed Paul on the road to Damascus, you have changed me. This life changing experience is for everyone. Please Lord, reveal yourself to those that read these words. Help them to realize life is incomplete without you. Help them to confess their sins and turn their life's plan over to you. Help them to believe you died for them and love them beyond anything they could imagine. I love you Lord! I thank you Lord for my life with you! Amen!

The encourager!

When the uproar was over, Paul sent for the believers and encouraged them. Then he said good-bye and left for Macedonia. While there, he encouraged the believers in all the towns he passed through. Then he traveled down to Greece, (Acts of the Apostles 20:1-2 NLT)

How do you go about preaching the Gospel? So much of what we hear is gloom and doom. Society has gotten very skeptical and cynical. Even Christians feel obligated to bear the bad news. I really wish we would just emphasize the positives of life with God. Realistically we need to spend more time encouraging new believers, young followers and even stalwarts of the faith.

Life is not easy. So spreading encouragement could be exactly what people may need. It's so much easier to face trials if you hear the voice of your family and friends shouting encouragement. Life is going to be difficult at times. It is guaranteed! It may feel there is no way you can handle it. That is where you need your friends in the faith to come along side and encourage you.

Send out an email, call someone, or go visit them. Do it specifically with the attitude to encourage them and let them know you are behind them. Bring the light of Jesus into their lives at the point where they need him the most.

Speak out!

One night the Lord spoke to Paul in a vision and told him, “Don’t be afraid! Speak out! Don’t be silent! For I am with you, and no one will attack and harm you, for many people in this city belong to me.” (Acts of the Apostles 18:9-10 NLT)

Sometimes I speak out at times I should be silent. My discernment is not always what it should be. I have hurt people by what I say. I have tried to use words when actions would have been better.

The more I read and study the word of God the better I am at saying the right things and speaking out in the proper way. If I rely on my sinful nature for judgment on the words that come from my mouth, I'm in trouble. If I rely on the guiding of the Holy Spirit, I can rest assured, when I speak out, it is within God's plan.

We all need to spend time with the Lord, reading his word, praying for guidance, wisdom and discernment. But, with the prompting of the Spirit of the Lord, we need to speak out and not be afraid of the enemy and those worldly consequences.

I pray I can do that!

Consequences.

Then God said to Abraham, “Your responsibility is to obey the terms of the covenant. You and all your descendants have this continual responsibility. (Genesis 17:9 NLT)

As parents, one of the lessons we want to teach our kids is, "Take responsibility for your actions." If you make a mistake, admit it. If you do not obey God, you will suffer the consequences. If you reject the God of the universe, your ultimate consequence is death. Many of the ills of this world are consequences of our sin and separation from God. We want to blame those things on God. Many people even use this as an excuse to reject God. But God gives us freedom to make choices. He also gives us the consequences.

I can not ignore the fact that I have caused many of my own problems in this life. Poor choices, not going to the father for his wisdom and counting on my own understanding, lead to tragic consequences. I am responsible for those choices and I can not avoid the results.

Dear Lord, I know that I can not live this life to its fullest without you. I can not avoid the consequences for my poor choices and ignoring your plan. Pleas Lord forgive me for my sins, forgive me for  separating myself from you. Help me to learn from my mistakes and to continue to look to you for guidance and wisdom. You are making and I am so thankful that you do not hold a grudge. You love me even through my sin. I praise you for that love, mercy and grace. Amen!

No burdens!

So why are you now challenging God by burdening the Gentile believers with a yoke that neither we nor our ancestors were able to bear? We believe that we are all saved the same way, by the undeserved grace of the Lord Jesus.” (Acts of the Apostles 15:10-11 NLT)

Boy do we Christians do this on a regular basis. We love to put rules and restrictions on believers. We burden with rules and useless rituals all in the name of religion. We are more like the Pharisees every day.

We are all saved the same way. We all are sinners and saved only by the grace of God. We need to eliminate the rhetoric and get straight to the point. The Lord Jesus came to earth to be one of us. He died for us and he rise from the grave to save us from our sins. It's simple, it's not filled with "yokes" that we can't handle. No restrictions, rules, or exceptions. We are saved by the grace of Jesus! We don't need to do anything. We just need to accept that grace and love!

Dear Lord, thank you for loving me even when I'm unlovable. Thank you for not coming to burden me. You are amazing, your grace is amazing!

Sleepy prayers

Some time later, the LORD spoke to Abram in a vision and said to him, “Do not be afraid, Abram, for I will protect you, and your reward will be great.” But Abram replied, “O Sovereign LORD, what good are all your blessings when I don’t even have a son? Since you’ve given me no children, Eliezer of Damascus, a servant in my household, will inherit all my wealth. (Genesis 15:1-2 NLT)

I love prayer and lately I have increased my prayer time. Like most people prayer, if it happens at all, usually occurs as an after thought. It happens when you get in bed at night and your prayers drift you off to sleep. That has been my prayer life at many times in my life. When I increase my time with God, my life improves. PrayĆ©r is a great time to vent with your creator, it's a great time to plead, praise, ask for wisdom, seek guidance, and protection. Just like Abram, God wants honest open conversation. You can disagree. You can express all your feelings, hopes, desires. You can bring it all to the Lord.

Prayer is not just a time of pompous word speak. It is a time to speak to your creator, father, and friend. Their are no special words, formulas, or times that you must pray. You need to pray continuously. Make your life a continual conversation with God. Speak often, through your day, in the morning, in the evening, at lunch, in a meeting, while driving, or at any time. Make a commitment to pray continually and watch the power of God. You will be amazed!

Dear Lord, I love you and treasure the times we have together. I beg your forgiveness for times I ignore you and don't make you part of my daily life. I am sorry for the small amount of time I give you in prayer. You Lord are worth more than a few words as I fall asleep. I praise you for the patience you have with me. I want nothing more than to honor you with my life and service. amen!

Pray for this biker

“Brothers, listen! We are here to proclaim that through this man Jesus there is forgiveness for your sins. Everyone who believes in him is declared right with God—something the law of Moses could never do. (Acts of the Apostles 13:38-39 NLT)

I had prayer with a man this weekend who wasn't right with God. His life was a mess, in his words. He had suffered a divorce and his family was in chaos. I pray his life will change. It's not going to happen without Jesus.

People that live contrary to the word of God, many times, have the feeling God isn't for them. They know their own sin and say there is no way for them to be forgiven. All I can say is "Hog wash!" God doesn't ask for you to be perfect before you go to him. He makes you perfect AFTER you come to him. You can't do that by following the laws of God. You can only do that by the grace of God!

The people of this world need prayer now more than ever. We need to be on our knees. We need to open up our hearts to the God of this universe to save us. As followers of Jesus we need to be full time "Prayer Warriors" for those that are not right with God and to support those that are.

Dear Lord, I love you and praise you for your wonderful mercy and grace. I pray for Greg. I pray that your love and grace will be so present in his life he will not be able to ignore it. I pray you will intervene in his life with his family and ex wife. This man needs you Lord! Please be with him. Thank you Lord! You are certainly amazing! Amen!

Does God "put up"with you?

“The God of this nation of Israel chose our ancestors and made them multiply and grow strong during their stay in Egypt. Then with a powerful arm he led them out of their slavery. He put up with them through forty years of wandering in the wilderness. (Acts of the Apostles 13:17-18 NLT)

Sometimes I am surprised my wife puts up with me. I can be a total pain in the ----! We've been married for 37 years and I've put her through moves around the country, job changes, career changes, life changes, and more. She has been my secretary, administrative assistant, negotiator, arbiter, guide, counselor, and dare I say "slave". But, despite "putting up" with me she loves me! How amazing is that?

When I read this verse, I also realize how much God has to "put up" with me. I had a wonderful weekend. I am blessed beyond my wildest expecations. When I read this last night, it helped me remember how much I really don't deserve the blessings I get. I am just like the stubborn Nation of Israel. I beg for help during trouble, ignore God during great times, try to direct God, and I am selfish to a fault. But, God still loves me. He adores me and longs to be with me. How amazing is God and the love he has for me. I am embarrassed and honored to be your child. Praise God! You are amazing! I love you and want to always honor you with my words and deeds.

Great day!

Meanwhile, the word of God continued to spread, and there were many new believers. (Acts of the Apostles 12:24 NLT)

The word is spreading. I know most people in our country know OF Jesus. They have a vision of the church, Christians, and the gospel. Many times that vision is clouded by satan and the sin in the world. Yesterday, my CMA brothers and sisters participated in a 50th anniversary of a local Motorcycle dealership, River City Harley Davidson. The best part of the day? We were ASKED to be there. We were used in the advertising for this event and we were treated like honored guests by the directors and general manager. We blessed countless bikers, praying with each of them for their specific needs. We made it known that we share a passion for motorcycles and a greater passion for Christ that we can mix together for the glory of God. We might have started tearing down walls and barriers between their vision and the truth.

I hang out with a lot of non-believers. Some of them have never stepped into a church in their life. Where did Jesus spend his time? Where did the early believers spend their time? I feel like an integral part of the great commission when I go out into the world, not spend my time sitting in a church pew. My church is going out to the world today in an annual event where we don't go to church, "BE THE CHURCH". Today, I am also going out. My CMA ministry family has another biker blessing and we get to share our passion for Christ and motorcycles. Praise God! praise God for this ministry and the passions he gives us. Praise God that he believes in me enough to send me out to share the message of Jesus. Looking for another great day with Jesus!

For everyone!

Then Peter replied, “I see very clearly that God shows no favoritism. In every nation he accepts those who fear him and do what is right. This is the message of Good News for the people of Israel—that there is peace with God through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all. (Acts of the Apostles 10:34-36 NLT)

I love that my God is a god of everyone. He shows no favoritism and he accepts anyone op who fears him. He has no preconceived notions. He knows us. He knows our sins. He knows we ALL sin. He loves us anyway! He will accept Muslims, gang members, hardcore bikers, and you and me.

I get the opportunity to represent Jesus today at a couple motorcycle events. I'll wear Jesus on my back patch and represent the gospel with my words and actions. I praise God he has chosen me for this ministry. I am honored and humbled. Tomorrow I get to share our mission with another group of bikers, pray with them, and share our passion with a church congregation. It's a busy weekend, but it is worth it to let EVERYONE know that Jesus is Lord of EVERY nation!

Dear Lord, I praise you for your love. I am honored to be a child of the most high God. Use me this weekend for your purposes. Use me to share your message and to show everyone that you long for a relationship. Give me the words to say and give me the actions that are pleasing to you. Amen!

I need peace! We all need peace!

This is the message of Good News for the people of Israel—that there is peace with God through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all. (Acts of the Apostles 10:36 NLT)

I need peace. We all need peace and we can only get that peace through Jesus.

I have to admit. I have been stressed lately. I've been stressed about the end of school. I've been stressed about Run for the Son ( my Cma chapter annual fundraiser), I've been stressed about a variety of family issues, I've been stressed for other people and their stresses, and I have been stressed over bring stressed! This is craziness and I just haven't handled it well.

I'm a strong believer in Christ. I know and have personally seen his power in my life. I know I can not be defeated because of my savior. So, why can't I shake this stress? Why can't I enjoy the PEACE of Jesus? It always boils down to one reason, I am a selfish, self centered sinner who's faith is a long way from where it needs to be.

Today, we recieved word of a colleague's child that has a very serious illness. My challenges in life are miniscule compared to the battle many people face with life threatening illness, joblessness, homelessness, and loss. My struggles can't even be called struggles compared to the potential loss of a loved one that one of my CMA family faces. I don't face the trials that many face every day. I'm blessed beyond imagine. My entire attitude, my entire "stress" filled attitude needs to stop. I need to focus my entire life praying for others, not my petty problems. I need to serve as a prayer warrior, not just for my self, but more importantly for those I know are battling REAL life battles.

Dear Lord, my life is yours. I ask forgiveness for complaining. I realize how great I have it. Please Lord be with my friends, family, and colleagues facing real life challenges. They need you. They need to be aware of your presence. They need your healing touch and your wonderful grace. Take away their stress, give them peace, and give them rest. We all need the peace that only flows through you. I praise you now and forever more! Amen,

I am not afraid!

Saul was one of the witnesses, and he agreed completely with the killing of Stephen. A great wave of persecution began that day, sweeping over the church in Jerusalem; and all the believers except the apostles were scattered through the regions of Judea and Samaria. (Acts of the Apostles 8:1 NLT)

It has to stop! This country was founded on Christian principles of free speech, freedom of government influence in religion, and multiple other freedoms. Those freedoms are under attack. The very fabric of our faith is under attack. I believe in the Bible as Gods holy word. I believe that Jesus Christ died for my sins and was raised from the dead. No government or ANY group of people will change that.

I fear for our country. But, I fear for American Christians the most. The tide of American society is against Christ and his followers. Our ability to follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit is being restricted by laws and regulations.

It won't work. I will follow Jesus! I am not afraid for myself! Kilł me! persecute me! Beat me! Jail me! I don't care! I answer to God and God alone!

What's your job?

So the Twelve called a meeting of all the believers. They said, “We apostles should spend our time teaching the word of God, not running a food program. And so, brothers, select seven men who are well respected and are full of the Spirit and wisdom. We will give them this responsibility. Then we apostles can spend our time in prayer and teaching the word.” (Acts of the Apostles 6:2-4 NLT)

I really find this passage of scripture very interesting. Is it really saying we shouldn't spend time running a food program? Certainly not! But there is a couple of very important messages here.

First, the food program mentioned in this scripture had some issues. It was discriminating between Jews and Gentiles. So, it wasn't exactly a sparkling service for Christ. We need to be cautious of our zealousness to serve. Sometimes we can get so bogged down in the details of the service we lose sight of Jesus. Sometimes we even take that to the extreme of sinning through our ministry. We can really hurt our witness if we do not follow
Christ-like principles in serving others.

Second, we all have God given talents. Some are meant to serve in food programs, serving the homeless and poor. Some are meant to preach. Some are meant to lead. Put yourself in a place where your talents can be used. You do not have to do it all. Stick to YOUR ministry, the ministry God has prepared for you. Don't let others make you feel guilty for not serving in one way or another. God has created you for a unique service. Unique to you! What job have you been designed for?

Dear Lord, I thank you for calling me to serve in a unique and special way. I thank you for the gifts you have blessed me with. May I only use them for you. May I never lose focus on you even through serving others. People matter. Your kingdom matters. We need to focus our words, thoughts, and deeds that bring others to know you. I praise you and love you now and forever. Amen!

Liars

Then Peter said, “Ananias, why have you let Satan fill your heart? You lied to the Holy Spirit, and you kept some of the money for yourself. (Acts of the Apostles 5:3 NLT)

This story is such a tragedy. Lying led to death for Ananias and his wife. You just can't hide things from the Lord. Why would you want to? What makes it worse is when you lie to the Lord and others know you lied to the Lord. I have been in the presence of peole that just can't help but lie. They think no one knows. They are the only one being fooled. It's sad and tragic.

God values an honest and truthful relationship with us. We can be open. We can let our feelings be clear. We don't have to lie to God And we don't have to lie to others. Once we start down the path of lying it is difficult to stop. Yet, God can help. Turn to him. Ask for his help. Make a vow to stop. His strength will sustain you.

Dear Lord, Forgive me for lies I have shared with you and with others. You know my heart. I do not want to lie. I do not want to hurt you or the peole I meet. Protect me from Satan. Do not let him fill my heart. Instead fill me with your love, grace, and mercy. You are amazing and I love you with everything in me. Amen!

Doing what is right!

You will be accepted if you do what is right. But if you refuse to do what is right, then watch out! Sin is crouching at the door, eager to control you. But you must subdue it and be its master.” (Genesis 4:7 NLT)

The lines of right and wrong are so blurred in our society. There seems to be no real right and wrong. The Bible clearly defines right and wrong from the very beginning of life. Yet, we refuse to use this wonderful book to clear up the fog of right vs wrong. I have studied the word continuously in my life and am learning more and more everyday, revealed by the Holy Spirit. Sin will control you. It has controlled me. But, now I have and you can overcome that control with the power of Jesus Christ.

Dear Lord, reveal your word to me. Reveal right from wrong so I may live as an example for those around me. Protect me from my evil desires. Protect me from the sin that is crouching at the door. I love you Lord! I am thankful for your presence in my life. I praise you for your love, mercy, and grace. Amen!

The spirit of a woman!

In those days I will pour out my Spirit even on my servants—men and women alike— and they will prophesy. (Acts of the Apostles 2:18 NLT)

Mother's Day is near. While reading my bible I stumbled across this verse.

God treats men and women as equals. There is no debate. It's true....... End of story!

Somehow over time, women have been given the role of a servant. They were excluded from many roles in society including leadership in the church. None of it is supported biblically. I am glad churches have changed to support women. In my entire life I can name woman after woman, filled with the Holy Spirit. In all reality, the church today would not exist without the spirit filled women that tirelessly serve our communities. More often than not, women are also the spiritual leaders in the home and are the real prayer warriors of our lives. We need to set honor ALL women for their sacrificial love and leadership.

The leadership role that most women accept without question is that of mother. Yes, leadership role. Even in the old fashioned, traditional role, women have always been leaders of the home.  We should honor them with every ounce of energy we can generate. My mother, my wife, my daughters, are all wondeful examples of Godly mothers. I am so thankful to be blessed with them in my life. They are prime examples of what God has designed women to be.

Dear Lord, thank you for the "mothers" in my life. I ask a special prayer and a special blessing to these women. Protect them from all harm, from stress and from worry.mshow your presence in their lives. Give them peace through all things. Please help all of us to honor the women in our lives, not just the mothers. Help us to treat them with honor and respect, not just as servants, but as real leaders at home, work, and school. We love you Lord. We Praise you Lord! Amen!

He gave it all.

Then God said, “Look! I have given you every seed-bearing plant throughout the earth and all the fruit trees for your food. And I have given every green plant as food for all the wild animals, the birds in the sky, and the small animals that scurry along the ground—everything that has life.” And that is what happened. (Genesis 1:29-30 NLT)

Of course one of the most well known scriptures in the Bible is John 3:16. For God so loved the world, he gave his only begotten son, that whosever .........

But Genesis and the creation story is right there. For God so loved the world that he created it all just for us!

The world is falling apart. Endorsement of all types of sin is the norm and not the exception in our society. Attacks on followers of Christ are increasing. People will dissappoint you. You will dissappoint those you love. God still loves us. He loves me so much he gave his son and he created life just for me.

Even though life is not always fair. Stress and trial by fire is a fact of life. I can always count on the love of Christ. People will let you down. I will let down those that love me. God will never let us down. He is the same today as he was yesterday and will be the same forever. I praise God for his wondeful love. I don't deserve it, but I am forever thankful for his mercy and grace.

Private prayers

They said to each other, “Didn’t our hearts burn within us as he talked with us on the road and explained the Scriptures to us?” And within the hour they were on their way back to Jerusalem. There they found the eleven disciples and the others who had gathered with them, who said, “The Lord has really risen! He appeared to Peter. ” (Luke 24:32-34 NLT)

I am so thankful for a great family and wondeful group of Christian friends. On Monday, I posted on social media the need for prayers for a personal, private matter. Over 80 people either commented or liked the post. I am thankful for those prayers and continue to need them. I am also thankful for those not asking why. Sometimes prayer requests can turn into nothing more than a gossip session. Every one of my friends respected my privacy and just prayed. I ask you to continue to respect that. When and if you see me, it's ok to acknowledge you are praying for me. Please leave it at that. Don't gossip, avoid speculation, but fervently pray for guidance, discernment, and the glory of God revealed through this situation.

I love all of my faithful brothers and sisters in Christ. Please sincerely pray. I love my Lord even through the tough hurdles in life. I have faith in him through all things. If the Lord chooses to teach me through fire and trials, I accept it because he has been faithful throughout my 54 years of life! I know his power. I have seen it. It has been a big part of my life. Praise God for his undying love, his wonderful grace, and magnificent mercy in my life!

Jesus suffered more

He walked away, about a stone’s throw, and knelt down and prayed, “Father, if you are willing, please take this cup of suffering away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine.” Then an angel from heaven appeared and strengthened him. He prayed more fervently, and he was in such agony of spirit that his sweat fell to the ground like great drops of blood. (Luke 22:41-44 NLT)

My mind is far away

“‘Yes,’ the king replied, ‘and to those who use well what they are given, even more will be given. But from those who do nothing, even what little they have will be taken away. (Luke 19:26 NLT)

Sometimes I just can't write anything.  My mind is occupied. I need your prayers for a personal matter please!

My God is still in charge. I love him and need him more today than ever.

The notorious sinner.

Zacchaeus quickly climbed down and took Jesus to his house in great excitement and joy. But the people were displeased. “He has gone to be the guest of a notorious sinner,” they grumbled. Meanwhile, Zacchaeus stood before the Lord and said, “I will give half my wealth to the poor, Lord, and if I have cheated people on their taxes, I will give them back four times as much!” (Luke 19:6-8 NLT)

Jesus ministry was so unconventional for the day. Actually, it's even unconventional for TODAY! Jesus made time for "church" , as we all should. But, his ministry was taken to the people and he never hesitated when being a guest of a "notorious sinner". He found the same thing I have found, the notorious of sinners is usually more giving than the most pious of religious "sinners". I really don't even know what a notorious sinner looks like. It might be I would see it when I looked into the mirror.

Yesterday was a wonderful example of that. My CMA family held our annual fundraiser, Run for the Son. I have always been so blessed with the support of our motorcycle community for this ministry. Most of the people that come are great Christian people, but some would be classified as, notorious sinners! I have seen their love show through brighter than most people. Even those that live a life separate from God recognize the power of Jesus through our ministry. I will also say I am completely humbled by Gods blessing on this ministry. We do NOTHING, with out that blessing. I am weak. My Lord is strong. My doubts, my weakness of faith are evident with this event. I worry needlessly over this big event. I am always so worried when we are putting our ministry on display for nonbelievers. I don't want to be the stumbling block for someone not knowing the love of Jesus. I want to share Jesus with a special event like none other. I don't want this to be just another motorcycle ride. So I fret. Needlessly! God always shines through. He did so yesterday, he will do so today, and he has done that through my 54 years of life.

Dear Lord, forgive my weakness,my lack of faith, and not trusting your infinite wisdom, power, and love. I am humbled to be your servant. I praise your blessings. I praise your presence yesterday for our event. I dedicate myself and our insisted to you again. Thank you Lord. thank you Lord! You are amazing! Amen!

Open our Eyes Lord!

IEvery curse written against us in the Law of Moses has come true. Yet we have refused to seek mercy from the LORD our God by turning from our sins and recognizing his truth. Therefore, the LORD has brought upon us the disaster he prepared. The LORD our God was right to do all of these things, for we did not obey him.

“O our God, hear your servant’s prayer! Listen as I plead. For your own sake, Lord, smile again on your desolate sanctuary. “O my God, lean down and listen to me. Open your eyes and see our despair. See how your city—the city that bears your name—lies in ruins. We make this plea, not because we deserve help, but because of your mercy. “O Lord, hear. O Lord, forgive. O Lord, listen and act! For your own sake, do not delay, O my God, for your people and your city bear your name.” (Daniel 9:13-14, 17-19 NLT)

It baffles me why more people aren't flocking to the Lord. The times are so perilous. Danger, death, destruction are everywhere. We are seeing the results of our own sinfullness around every corner, within every headline and breaking news event.

Open our eyes Lord!

Daniel could have been living today, here, in the United States, instead of thousands of years ago. Yes, the Lord could stop it. He won't. He won't until we humble ourselves and come to him. I plead Lord, intervene. Make life better for all. Lord have mercy on us and our rejection of you. Open our eyes Lord to your perfect grace and love. Use me as an instrument to change the world and bring people to you! Amen!
