How Salty are you?

“Salt is good, but if it loses its saltiness, how can you make it salty again? Have salt among yourselves, and be at peace with each other.” (Mark 9:50 NIV)

How is your spiritual life? Is it boring, routine, and stale? How is your worship, your prayer time, or bible study? My spiritual life can lose its saltiness, if I let it. So how can we make it salty again?

Live an Active Christian Life - We are so busy in this country. Most of the activities we participate have nothing to do with Christ. We need to intentionally, actively participate in activities of service, study, prayer, and worship. Active participation does NOT mean just going to church every Sunday. What do you do to contribute to the Kingdom? Are you Going into the world to share the Gospel? There is nothing passive about this command from Jesus. If the best you can do is passively go to church, you need to reflect on your commitment.

Get Rest - I have noticed in my own life that I need rest. I am a proffesional nap taker. I love the couch at about 3:30 every day. I notice my activity level increases when I go to bed early. A rested Christian becomes more alert, more joyous, and better equipped to serving others.

Connect with God - This is the real salt. You have to build a relationship with God through private prayer, study, and worship. My blog time, while open to you, is my private time where God and I connect. I study the Bible, pray, and let God speak to ME, through writing this blog. I push myself to make this a center part of my day. I start writing at the end of the day before bed and finish first thing in the morning. You don't have to write a blog, just find a way to connect with God. When we do that we can't lose our salt.

YOUR SALTINESS IS COMPLETELY DEPENDENT UPON YOU!
